KIKO Christmas – Digital Emotion

KIKO have got some fantastic, and super-affordable gifts on offer for this Christmas in their new, limited edition Digital Emotion range – when I saw the prices I had to look twice! If you need impressive gifts for girls, have a look at these…

The packaging is a shiny iridescent cardboard which is really eye catching, but it’s what’s inside that really got me going!

The Satin Nail Laquer set opens like a book to reveal eight gorgeous, limited edition nail polishes. They are really intense, glossy colours with names that match the shades beautifully. The polishes look sleek and really expensive, and give the finish of an expensive polish, yet this set is only £19.90! That is just under £2.50 a polish – can’t really argue with that!

The colour range is really good – going from nudes with Rose Taupe to classic reds with True Red, and the crazy side with Light Tiffany. I think it’s a nice colour palette for anyone.

The smaller box in the first photo, opens to reveal 5 lipsticks…

Again, this is a really pretty colour palette for someone. Although the colours may look a little shocking in the bullet, they’re really wearable and less intense on the lip. They pack a lot of pigment, but go on like a balm to give a wet look finish. These are limited edition shades and contain SPF15. Guess how much!? £16.90!!!! Told you I couldn’t believe the prices!

There are loads of other sets on offer too. Check out or KIKO Stores to shop, and see the rest of the range.

Benefit Wrapped Up In Love

On Friday I went along to the new Benefit Boutique in Carnaby Street to have a nosey round – it is great! Not only can you purchase all the Benefit goodies you’d like, they also have a Shellac nail bar, Vita Liberata tanning room, and a little hair styling salon where you can choose from a list of hair styles to have done. To celebrate their opening they are offering a free hair styling sesh every time you purchase a product (for a limited time only so if you have anything you want to buy and you’re in the area, get there quick to take advantage!)

While we were there we got to have a look at the new Christmas collections coming out. This year the sets come in tins, which I love! They all feature a graphic print on them and stack on top of each other if you were to get more than one. They are perfect for re-using on your dressing table.

I took home the ‘It’s a love fest’ tin which contains a full sized The Porefessional Primer and They’re Real Mascara, and mini Sun Beam highlighter, and Coralista lipgloss. It retails at £39.50 and would make a fab gift for a makeup lover.

The other set I really loved the look of at the event was the Little Love Potions – a great way to try out lots of Benefit products and super sizes for if you travel a lot. This set is £29.50 and will definitely be going on my Christmas list!

Other new products joining the Benefit shelves is under my spell Noelle perfume, and Bathina body oil.

The perfume comes in the Benefit perfume trademark cute cocktail shaker style bottle. It’s a sweet but grown-up smell, with top notes of cardamom, black pepper and lingonberry. Middle notes of wild orchid, jasmine petals, vanilla flower, fresh rose and soft violet. Bottom notes of patchouli, accord oud, black amber, vanilla beans, benzoin resin and raspberry. They make a gorgeous wintery woody fragrance. Noelle is on sale now and retails at £29.50 for 30ml.

Bathina takes it back to the old-school with the original Benefit scent. If you remember Benefit from long ago, you will remember this smell – and it still smells gorgeous. Lightly floral and clean smelling, this body oil is great – the spray mists it on to your skin, and it dries as soon as you rub it in – so no feeling like a grease-bomb. It’s lightweight and hydrating and leaves the skin lovely and soft with a delicate smell left behind. It goes on sale on 26th October priced at £26.50 for 75ml.

Crescent Row is the new limited edition perfume set – with miniature 10ml bottles of Benefit favourite perfumes – the new under my spell Noelle, laugh with me LeeLee, ring my Bella and my place or yours Gina and is priced at £29.50

All of the Christmas sets launched on Friday, so if you’re near a Benefit counter, be sure to pop in and check them out, or you can have a look on the Benefit website.

The other thing to set a reminder for in your diary is the launch of the advent calendar, ‘Countdown to Love’ – it’s priced at £50 and filled with mini Benefit products. It goes on sale on 2nd November but each store will only be getting around 15 calendars each, so if you want one you need to be quick!

Bobbi Brown Uber Nude Lip & Eye Palette

I love this time of year – all the cosmetics brands start bringing out their special Christmas Gifts, and this is definitely one I can imagine is going to be on lots of women’s lists! Bobbi Brown’s Lip & Eye Palette in Uber Nude (there’s an Atomic Pink too if that’s more your thing) is a perfectly compact palette containing lip and eye colours perfect for nudey neutral lovers.

Housed in the sleek black plastic casing, are three eye shadows – Navajo, Downtown (a new shade), and Espresso, and three lip colours – Uber Beige, Blushed Heather Glitter Lip Gloss (another new shade), and Almost Nude Glitter Lip Gloss…. oh and a mirror too!
What I love about the whole palette is it can transform you from a day to night look, if you wanted to go quite light on the eyes for the day, then vamp it up for the evening, Espresso is dark enough to create a fab smokey eye look with Downtown to soften the edges.
Here I am wearing all three eye colours and Uber Beige.

The three eye shadows are very highly pigmented, matt, and easy to blend.
L-R: Espresso, Downtown, Navajo
The two colours pressed into the lip palette are Blushed Heather, which is soft to the touch, and has a high shine, glittery (but not ott disco-ball territory – it’s more of a subtle gorgeousness that you catch when the light hits you in a certain way) finish, and Uber Beige, which has a lipstick finish and is the perfect warm nude colour.

In the photo below I am wearing all three eye colours and Blushed Heather lip gloss.
There is also a mini gloss with a sponge applicator in the palette, Almost Nude Glitter Lip Gloss, which is much more shimmery as you can see in the photo below. It has a hint of caramel flavour to it which is devine, and lovely soft flecks of gold glitter. It has massive staying power too – ideal for Christmas Party season!

I love it, it’s so mini yet so perfect! What do you think?
The Uber Nude Lip & Eye Palette is £36 from Bobbi Brown.

Sanctuary’s Ultimate Facial in-a-Box

If you’re stuck for a Christmas gift, let me recommend the Ultimate Facial in-a-Box from Sanctuary.

The box opens out to reveal everything you need for an at-home facial including some award winning products, and step by step instructions on how to carry out a facial at home.

Inside the box is Polishing Hot Cloth Cleanser, Muslin Cloth, Warming Microbrasion Polish, Therapist Secret Facial Oil, 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask, Lift & Brighten Eye Complex and Stop The Clock Moisturiser.

The Mircrobrasion Polish feels gorgeous – a thick consistency with ultra fine particles in it, perfect for sloughing off those dead skin cells. The Cleanser contains chamomile which smells beautiful and is so calming to the skin, while the Moisturiser smells refreshingly citrusey.

There is enough in the box to give yourself more than one facial, at the fraction of the cost of what a facial at a beauticians would cost. This pack cost £20 at Boots and is part of the Christmas 3 for 2 promotion.

I think it’s great that there are proper, thorough instructions with how to use the products and in which order. For someone that isn’t au fait with the likes of facial oil, it’s ideal!

So, that’s my little tip of the day for a nice easy, pampering Christmas present – hope you like it!

The Only Advent Calendar I Require

Finally! An advent calendar marketed at people watching their waistlines (well, any excuse really!) Selfridges have launched an advent calendar full of beauty items. It does cost £60, but they haven’t scrimped on products – YSL, Lancome, Giorgio Armani, Kiehl’s, Shu Uemura, Viktor and Rolf and Stella McCartney items make up this luxurious calendar. Think of the pleasure of opening up each window every morning. The only issue would be what gift you could get on Christmas day which would top that?!

The advent calendar is available exclusively at Selfridges.
